Protocol of the True Worshipper

One might ask why we need a book on worshipping—glad you asked. Protocol Of The True Worshipper is vital in developing a biblical understanding of worship. It is a refresher to those in a complacent state of worship. This book invokes believers to grow to a new level of worship while gaining spiritual insight on the importance of creative worship.

Worship is an expression of reverence and adoration for who God is and is set apart only for Him. The worshippers must love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength. Expressive worship doesn’t mean that it must be loud, nor does it indicate any particular physical posture. One may bow low or prostrate oneself as a show of humility. It reveals what’s in our hearts.

It is something we express and must submit totally to God and align with His will.
In other words, worship is to magnify the Lord rather than oneself. Biblical worship should result in God honoring actions. When we worship from our hearts, our efforts will reflect the love of God to others.

13. The Mind-Set of the Worshipper

The Night before Church
Choose your outfit the night before. If you are having breakfast, make sure you have everything ready for the meal, so you are not rushed and aggravated in the morning. You must also leave time to take care of the unknown.

A Call to Worship God in Spirit

Isaiah 27:13, “…And shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem.”
John 4:23-24, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is
Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
John 1:17, “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”
John 12:20, “Now there were certain Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.”
Romans 8:4, “…do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.”

23. Ways to Worship the Lord

Worship through Music
So often, we equate worship with music. But it isn’t the same thing; music is an avenue of worship; it can direct our hearts to the Lord. When King David brought the Ark of God to Jerusalem, he and all Israel played music before God with all their strength. They played horns, trumpets, cymbals, string instruments, and harps.
(I Chronicles 13:8; 15:28). There are more than 100 verses in Psalms that refer to singing and music.

My favorite musical instrument is the saxophone. There’s something about the sound that ushers in the spirit of worship immediately. Now consider your favorite musical instrument and take a moment and visualize the effects it has on your devotion. Music has a way of charging the atmosphere that reaches the depths of our soul, assisting our expressions and response to God and the body of Christ.

Worship through Nature
Worship God’s creative power while taking a walk on a nature trail or spending time outside. Did you hear the blue jay overhead, singing a sweet melody? Oh! Look, there’s a cardinal in the redwood?

Stop! Look at the log over there to your right, see the earthworm trying to escape being captured by the robin. Check out the stones and the lillypads in the stream, reflecting an impressive arrangement of God’s creative beauty.

As you continue your walk, praise God for the deer and the fawn as they enjoy the foliage across the way. Remember the oxygen we breathe, the sun shining through the trees, and the blue skies are for our pleasure. Let’s give our Creator all the glory
